Roads has been affected due to recent floods and overcrowding, the Roads Division has asked for allocation of about 200 crore rupees for immediate reform.
Roads and Highways Department have only informed the loss of the roads under their control; Outside, many roads under local government authorities have also been affected by floods this year.
Field officials of the Roads and Highways Department sent the planning and maintenance wings to the information of 255 roads in different districts of the district.
The Roads and Highways Department sent letters to the Road Transport and Bridge Ministry in the first week of this month to provide the allocation of 193 crore 49 lakh 75 thousand rupees for immediate repair of the damaged roads.
The roads and highways department said that some more districts of north Bengal and Sylhet region have suffered more damage.
Last year, for the repair of the damaged road due to floods and extreme weather, 1200 crore 33 lakh and 25 thousand rupees were demanded.
The officials say that after the rainy season, the loss of roads across the country will be determined in November this year. Then the whole picture can be found.
The chief engineer of Roads and Highways Department, Ibn Alam Hasan, told talash24.com that initially this money has been sought.
He said, “Honorable Prime Minister has a directive, check those places that have flooded the floods, and then there should be drainage, culverts, as if done properly.
“When the floods will end completely, when the rainy season is gone, we will study and see where the flow of water is needed in the drainage bridges-culverts? If it does, then he has to make a separate plan to do the job. ”
Chief engineer said that the damage caused due to vehicular movement on the roads plunged into flood water.
