12 dead bodies were recovered from another sailing boat with Rohingyas in the Bay of Bengal and Naf river during entering Bangladesh from Myanmar. On Sunday, at 9pm on Sunday night, the boat sank in the Gholarchar area of Shahpiar Island under Sabarang Union of Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
Among the dead, there are a man, a woman and 10 children. Earlier on Sunday, 15 people were rescued alive by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members.
After the boat sail, Mohammad Zafar came out on the shore. He said that half of the Rohingya people, including seven members of his family, came to Naikhongdia after fleeing the Middang hills of Mouchang in order to escape from the army. From there they were going to Shahpiir Island by boat and they were in the boat. On the way the boat sank. He, along with his mother and his wife, could be on the shore, but two sisters and two children were missing. The body of the two bodies was recovered today morning.

Fazlul Haque, member of Ward No. 9 of Sabrang, told that they were rescuing from 11pm yesterday. The body of 12 people has been recovered today at around eight in the morning. Rescue is still going on.
Teknaf 2 BGB Captain Lt Col SM Ariful Islam and Teknaf Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Meen Uddin Khan said arrangements were made for the burial of the Rohingya dead bodies.
